The Netherlands scripted another major shock of the World Cup 2023 having claimed a surprise win in their last match against South Africa. Chasing a total of 246 in a rain-hit World Cup fixture, the Proteas were bowled out for 207. Netherlands’ Logan van Beek produced scintillating figures of 3/60 in that match. Dutch skipper Scott Edwards came up with a sublime unbeaten knock of 78 against South Africa. The emphatic 38-run victory marked the Dutch cricket team’s first win of the competition. With two points from three matches, the Scott Edwards-led side now occupy the ninth spot in the World Cup 2023 points table. In their next fixture, the Netherlands will be up against Sri Lanka on Saturday, October 21. The match between the Netherlands and Sri Lanka is scheduled to be played at the BRSABVE Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
