Anupamaa, starring Rupali Ganguly, Sudhanshu Pandey, and Gaurav Khanna, continues its reign atop the TRP charts, captivating fans with its compelling storyline and strong performances. Recent episodes have surprised viewers with Anu and Anuj confessing their long-held feelings after years apart. Adding to the excitement, Adhik Mehta, who portrayed Anu’s daughter Pakhi’s husband, is poised to make a comeback after an extended absence. Currently starring in the lead role of Milke Bhi Hum Na Mile, Adhik Mehta’s return is expected to significantly impact the plot, with reports suggesting his character will play a pivotal role in reuniting Anu and Anuj.
Pinkvilla reports that Mehta’s dramatic return will occur following his daughter Ishaani’s serious health crisis. Mehta had parted ways with Pakhi due to her unconventional demands, and once, she even took their daughter away from him. Despite warning Pakhi about their daughter’s care, an upcoming episode will depict Ishaani being mistakenly administered the wrong medicine, worsening her condition. Before leaving Pakhi, Adhik had warned of legal action if she failed to ensure proper care for their daughter
However, upon learning about Ishaani’s deteriorating health, he loses his temper and expresses fury towards Pakhi and her father, Vanraj Shah. During this time, Adhik Mehta will meet Anupama and Anuj Kapadia, who will be seen reuniting them by giving examples of his bitter marriage experience. He makes them realise that he chose the wrong partner to spend his life with, unlike them who have chosen wisely, which is why they are still together.
Talking about managing two shows, Adhik said, “I never thought I’d be able to manage two shows at a time but it worked out so well for me and it’s just because of my producers’ cooperation and adjustments. When I joined Anupamaa I was on the verge of completing Choti Sardarni and Directors’ Kut Productions adjusted for me and I can never forget that and they proved that they are the best by cooperating and adjusting with me again for this show. And kudos to the team of Masterstroke production and my new show’s producers for doing the same for me. This has been special.”
“As the last time Adhik warned Pakhi that he wanted full custody of their daughter Ishaani, this time he came with a bang and warned Vanraj and Pakhi about the incident that happened with his daughter, and after so many years Adhik also met Anuj and Anupamaa,” Adhik Mehta added.
For those not aware, Pakhi was originally played by actress Muskan Bamne. However, due to the leap in the storyline, Bamne wasn’t comfortable ageing onscreen. Looking at the situation, the makers decided to bring in Chandni Bhagwanani to play the adult version of Pakhi.
