The 24th edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) kicked off on September 27 with the IIFA Utsavam in Abu Dhabi. The event recognised films and artists from the South film industry. Shah Rukh Khan and Vicky Kaushal hosted the event and some popular actors across Indian cinema graced it. Among others, Ananya Panday attended the event and opened up about her upcoming project CTRL, and the success of her web series Call Me Bae.
Sharing her opinion on her latest cyber thriller film CTRL, Ananya said, “It is very very scary. I am very un tech savvy, I am quite clueless when it comes to AI but after doing this film and watching the film there was actually like ten minutes of silence in my house because it’s that impactful and scary. I Think when we started shooting the film, it felt like this is like a faraway reality, shayad future mein aisa hone wala hai but now when the film is releasing, we keep joking like it’s almost like a documentary.”
As per the trailer, Ananya Panday is Nella who gives artificial intelligence the power to control her life following a horrific occurrence. The film revolves around a CTRL account that enables an AI assistant to manage your life and happiness. But her life takes a turn when she faces the repercussions of her dependence on AI. The film is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and will stream on Netflix.
