Bigg Boss 17: Munawar Faruqui Reacts to 'Fixed Winner' Controversy, Says 'Just Sit and Watch The...'

Munawar Faruqui, who emerged as the Bigg Boss 17 winner, broke silence about people calling him ‘fixed winner’. The stand-up comedian was asked to react to people calling him a ‘fixed winner’, to which he shared that people should watch the whole season before making such allegations against him.

In an interview with ETimes, Munawar justified saying, “Yaar fixed winner ko itna sab go through karna pade toh it can’t be a fixed winner. If one has to go through so much scrutiny as a supposed fixed winner, then it can’t truly be a fixed winner.”If I had been a fixed winner, I would have gotten everything on a platter. Pura season gawah hai (The whole season if proof) that I’ve got nothing on a platter, I’ve worked hard and a lot.”

He stated, “My answer to people who are calling me a fixed winner is, ‘Just sit and watch the entire season, and you will realize that it wasn’t fixed.”

Munawar further added, “Having said that, people can have that feeling because, when you have a strong fanbase and you do such reality shows, a lot of things are at stake and you lose a few things. To win things, you give them your best. Mujhe lagta hai ye pyaar hai logon ka (I think I won because of people’s love), and people who are calling me a fixed winner can’t change their opinion. Maybe before going to Bigg Boss, I would have wanted to change perceptions, but now I feel I can’t change everyone.”

After entertaining the audience on Salman Khan’s popular reality show for months, Munawar was named the winner on Sunday, January 28. Abhishek Kumar was named the runner-up. The other finalists on the show were Ankita Lokhande, Mannara Chopra, and Arun Mahashetty.

Besides the shiny Bigg Boss 17 trophy, Munawar Faruqui will also take home a swanky new car and a grand cash prize of Rs. 50 lakh. The comedian was overwhelmed with joy when his name was announced as the winner of the popular reality show. His family had also come to support him and were beaming with pride.

Munawar’s stint on the show has been marked by several controversies, including allegations of two-timing with ex-girlfriend Nazila Sitaishi and pre-existing marriage proposals before entering the Bigg Boss house. Munawar’s time on the show became particularly challenging after Ayesha Khan’s wildcard entry. Ayesha Khan raised several serious allegations against Munawar Faruqui. Ayesha disclosed that Munawar was allegedly involved with not just one, but five women over two months before entering Bigg Boss 17.
