BTS Share Heartbreaking Moment of Grammy Loss, Host Live Session to Pacify Angry Fans
The band was worried more about their disappointed ARMYs who had stayed up all night hoping for their win at the Grammys.

Be it success or failure, BTS shares every moment with their loyal fanbase, the ARMY. The K-pop band knew that their fans would want to know their reaction to losing out on a Grammy award this year, and so they shared the moment they watched the prize go to Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande.

BTS was nominated for their chart-topper song Dynamite in the best Pop Duo/Group category, but could not secure a win. The septet watched with bated breath as their category was announced during the Grammy Premiere ceremony. In a video shared on Twitter, you see the members RM, Suga, Jin, V, Jungkook, Jimin and J-Hope excited and nervous at the same time when the moment approaches where the winner is announced. There’s a swift change in their expression as Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande are announced as winners for their song Rain On Me.

The K-pop stars also went live on VLive soon after their Grammys performance was aired, to check up on disappointed fans and share their own thoughts with them. J-hope revealed they were flipping bottles up until the last moment to find if they’d win the trophy. “To be honest, I am a little disappointed, but we got to perform at the Grammys, which we always wanted to do,” he said.

RM thanked fans for waiting for a long time. Because of the time difference, the band had to stay up all night, first to watch the Grammy Premiere ceremony to find out if they had won, and then to watch their performance during the main awards event. The ARMYs stayed up with them.

Jin mentioned they had to wear makeup and get ready in the middle of the night, but didn’t get to appear on TV because they lost. J-Hope reminded him that they were interviewed as nominees, so they did get to appear. Jin later tweeted a selfie to make up for the lost opportunity.

During the live, several members kept repeating how this is just the beginning and they’d continue to work hard for the Grammys next year. “Today’s events happened so that we can find a better path, and I hope to perform with ARMYs next year,” said V.
