Complaint Against Tamil Actress Saranya Ponvannan For Alleged Verbal Threats In Parking Dispute
The complaint states that during an altercation over a parking spot in their residential area, Saranya allegedly threatened her neighbour.

Veteran actress Saranya Ponnvannan is known for her motherly roles in Tamil cinema. Wife of actor Ponnvannan, she has carved a niche for herself in the industry as the soft nature and motherly character in films like Komaram Puli and Raghuvaran B Tech. That is why when a recent report circulated that Saranya was involved in a verbal fight with her neighbour, fans were taken by surprise. The actress has landed herself in a soup as her neighbour Sridevi has complained to her with the Virugambakkam police.

The complaint states that during an altercation over a parking spot in their residential area, Saranya allegedly threatened her neighbour. Reports suggest that Sridevi opened her gate, nearly hitting Saranya’s parked car. This led to an argument between Saranya and her neighbour, Sridevi, during which Saranya is said to have issued threats.

According to the complaint, Saranya even issued death threats to Sridevi and the latter has now attached the CCTV visuals of Saranya Ponvannan fighting with her as evidence of the complaint. According to reports, Saranya is seen as angry and aggressive in the footage submitted to the police although no dialogue is audible. Saranya is known to be playing calm and soft-spoken characters in the films she appears in and her fans are surprised at the unpleasant turn of events surrounding the incident.

The incident reminds us of the film Parking, starring MS Bhaskar and Harish Kalyan. The film was released a few months back and narrated a tale of animosity between two tenants who fight over a parking space in an apartment building. Looks like Saranya had her own ‘Parking’ moment in here.

Saranya’s debut came in the highly acclaimed Mani Ratnam film Nayakan, opposite Kamal Haasan. The film was India’s official entry to the Oscars that year. She played lead roles between 1987 and 1996 after which she took a long sabbatical. She returned in 2003 with character roles and has continued the streak since.
