After being together for nearly two years and welcoming a son in January this year, rapper Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr. aka DDG and Halle Bailey have decided to go their separate ways. On Thursday evening, October 3, DDG shared a note on his Instagram Stories and confirmed the same with his fans. “Dear friends and supporters, After much reflection and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways,” he wrote in the note.
He went on to share that the decision was not easy but the “best path” for both of them, further adding they still love each other and remain best friends.
“I cherish the time we’ve spent together and the love we’ve shared. Despite the changes in our relationship, our love for each other remains deep and true. We are still best friends and adore each other. As we focus on our individual journeys and our roles as co-parents, we cherish the bond we’ve built and the beautiful moments we’ve shared. As we navigate this transition, we ask for your understanding and support. Thank you for your love and encouragement,” he added.
Halle is yet to comment on the development. It is pertinent to note that the announcement came months after the couple was swarmed with break-up rumours in April when DDG and Halle Bailey allegedly unfollowed each other on Instagram and even took down some of their photos, stated an Elle report.
The Timeline of DDG, Halle Bailey’s Relationship
– It was in March 2022 when DDG first confirmed their relationship on social media after sharing a birthday post for Halle Bailey.
– Later in June of the same year, the couple made it red carpet official by debuting at the BET Awards. They further went on to take part in a series of events and award shows.
– In July 2023, DDG’s latest song, Famous, drew a lot of backlash, as it seemingly aimed Bailey’s interactions with her co-stars.
– In January this year, the couple welcomed their first child, a son named Halo.
