Mumbai: Actress Swara Bhaskar says she was skeptical about being part of upcoming web series, ItsNotThatSimple, because her character gets involved in an extra-marital affair. The actress, however, adds that her character's flaws also made it interesting to play.
"I have mostly played good girl roles. This time I feel my character is like a bitch (referring to her extra martial affair in the series). "I wanted to change things for myself as an actor and do something that audience would never expect. I am looking forward to the reaction of the audience. It's an uncharted territory for me," Swara told PTI.
ItsNotThatSimple is a six episode web series also stars Vivan Bhatena, Akshay Oberoi and Karanveer Mehra in the lead roles. The show revolves around the idea of marriage, relationships, a woman's stand in a marriage and love. "I had never done a web series before so, I thought this is the right debut. The issues in the web series are dealt nicely. Our director Danish (Aslam) had a nice perspective. I was skeptical thinking this woman is a bitch but Danish was like it's okay if she has flaws. We as women judge ourselves too much," Swara said.
The 28 year old actress feels extra martial affairs are natural thing in society.
"We human beings have flaws. When we see or hear about extra-martial affairs it's like scandalous as element of sex is there. I feel sorry, sad for people who are in this situation (of extra martial affair ). I think it happens as one is unhappy with the person or marriage," she added.
The Nil Battey Sannata actress reveals she has been in in complicated relationships in the past.
"It's not a nice situation. It's painful. It's about the lies, about trust and being honest it's important to be truthful to yourself first then be open to your partner," she said. The web series, which is being produced by Viacom 18's streaming service Voot, has been directed by Danish Aslam, who helmed Deepika Padukone-Imran Khan-starrer Break Ke Baad (2010).
