Fardeen Khan Reveals Kareena Kapoor Recommended Him For 'Dev': 'To Share Screen With Amitabh Bachchan...'

It has been 20 years since Fardeen Khan, Om Puri, Amitabh Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor Khan impressed the audience with the political-drama, Dev. Fardeen Khan, who often takes to social media to reminisce about his previous films, recently revealed that it was Kareena who recommended film for the film and that he will forever be grateful to her for this.

Fardeen dropped a post on social media with the caption, “It was my third film with @kareenakapoorkhan and it was she who recommended me for the role, and I will always be grateful to her for that. Being signed by the respected Govind Nihalani for a film with legends like @amitabhbachchan and Om Puri was a huge endorsement for any actor. Govindji was highly respected and was known for his careful direction and powerful storytelling.”

“This role gave me the chance to work on a film that was relevant and meaningful, which was rare at the time. But the greatest take away for me from DEV was getting to share the screen with Amitji, an actor I idolized. His life and most amazing career have had a profound influence on Indian cinema and has left an indelible mark on not just me but on every Indian. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, a true honour and an absolute privilege to work with him, making it one of the highlights of my career,” he added.

Fardeen Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan have worked on three films together. Besides Dev, they were also seen together in Fida and Khushi.

Meanwhile, Fardeen Khan made his comeback with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. The show marked Bhansali’s venture into the OTT world. The show was headlined by Sanjeeda Shaikh, Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Sharmin Segal and Richa Chadha. Fardeen Khan, Taha Shah Badussha, Shekhar Suman and Adhyayan Suman also feature in important roles in the show.

As for Kareena Kapoor, she was last seen in Crew with Kriti Sanon and Tabu. It was also said that the actress will star opposite Yash in Toxic. However, it was then reported that Kareena is no longer a part of the film and Kiara Advani has been roped in in her place. It should be noted that there has been no official conformation on this.
