Amazon Prime Video’s crime-drama series Criminal has just received a new cast update, with Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke onboard. The actress will play a significant role in the graphic novel adaptation, taking on the character of Mallory, a “slick and daring armed robber, as quick with a gun as she is with her wits.” According to a Variety report, Clarke’s Mallory will be a part of a heist crew with Ricky Lawless (Gus Halper), with whom she is in a “passionate Bonnie-and-Clyde-like affair.” She is currently on the edge, “living on the wrong side of the law and hiding secrets that will bring her and her entire crew into the danger zone.”
Prior to this, the Criminal comic adaptation was originally revealed in January 2024, with several cast members already announced, including the likes of stars like Charlie Hunnam, Richard Jenkins, John Hawkes, Adria Arjona, Logan Browning, Kadeem Hardison, Pat Healy, Taylor Sele, Gus Halper, Aliyah Camacho, Michael Mando, Marvin Jones III, Michael Xavier, and Dominic Burgess, among others. With the addition of Emilia Clarke, the show’s star-studded cast continues to expand.

According to the official description, the series will be “an interlocking universe of crime stories,” as created by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips. “Sean and I have been building this world in our books for over a decade, and now to be able to bring it to life for Amazon is just incredible. And to have Amazon support the project the way they have and show so much faith in my and Jordan’s vision for the show is even more incredible,” the former said, as quoted by Deadline.
While Brubaker will serve as the co-showrunner and executive producer alongside Jordan Harper, Ryan Fleck, and Anna Boden will direct the first four episodes. Produced by Amazon MGM Studios, the show’s premiere date is yet to be revealed.
