Gurucharan Singh, who went missing in April this year but returned home after 26 days, has now promised to reunite one of his fans with his father. On Saturday, the former Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor took to his Instagram handle and shared a video in which he was seen travelling in Mumbai local train. However, soon after the video was posted, one of the fans took to the comments section to seek Singh’s help.
“Nice to see you back and happy…my dad is missing which seems to be similar case of urs. Can you help in broadcasting the news on ur story or other social media handle. Ready to provide relevant details,” the fan wrote. Singh also replied to the comment and agreed to help the fan. He asked the fan to send a copy of the missing police report to him also.
Interestingly, in April this year, Singh also went missing. However, he returned home after 26 days. Upon his return, Singh was interrogated by Delhi Police officials following which it was discovered that he had left home to be on a religious journey. Police officials had said that Gurucharan visited Gurudwaras in Amritsar and Ludhiana ever since he was reported “missing” but he later realised that he should return home.
Earlier this month, Gurucharan Singh opened up about his disappearance for the first time when he revealed that he had no plans of coming back. “I have always been spiritual because of my parents and at this point in life when I was feeling low, I turned towards God. I went on a spiritual journey and had no plans of coming back. But God gave me a sign and that made me return home,” Singh told the Bombay Times.
“Many people think I planned my disappearance for publicity, but that’s not true. If I wanted publicity, I could have given interviews to talk about the pending dues for my work in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. I could have used social media to do that, but I didn’t. Even after coming back home, I didn’t give any interviews, but now I am speaking up because I want to clarify certain things that people are saying about me,” the actor added.
In TMKOC, Gurcharan Singh used to play the role of Roshan Singh Sodhi — a fun-loving man who is always in party mode and never shies away from expressing love for his wife. He was one of the popular characters on the show, and also a founding cast member. Gurcharan, however, left the show in 2013 only to return next year due to public demand. After his exit in 2020, he was replaced by actor Balwinder Singh Suri. Singh has been missing from our television screens ever since.
