GV Prakash BREAKS Silence on Trolling After Divorce from Saindhavi: 'Has Tamil People's Honour...'

Music director-actor GV Prakash Kumar and his wife Saindhavi announced that they were parting ways after 11 years of marriage. The duo informed fans about their decision by sharing an official statement on social media on Monday. Since then, GV Prakash has been subjected to immense trolling, with a section of netizens questioning his character.

Now, Prakash has strongly reacted to the wild claims, stating that their his and Saindhavi’s separation was mutual and unnecessary speculation was hurting everyone involved. He wrote in Tamil, “It’s disheartening to see people debate about the union or separation of two people without proper understanding. It is unacceptable to pass comments on personal lives just because they’re celebrities. Has Tamil people’s honour come down so much that they don’t realise how their comments hurt people?”

Prakash further said that their families and loved ones know the reason behind the separation, writing, “The reason for our separation has been conveyed to our family members and friends. We decided after careful consideration. I’m writing this to convey that your comments, irrespective of the intentions, are hurtful. Please respect everyone’s emotions; thanks to everyone for their support.”

In a post shared on Monday, the Soorarai Pottru music director confirmed his separation and wrote, “After much reflection, Saindhavi and I have decided to part ways after 11 years of marriage. For the sake of our mental peace and betterment while preserving our mutual respect for each other. We kindly ask the Media, friends and fans to understand and respect our privacy during this deeply personal transition. Acknowledging that we are growing apart, we believe this is the best decision for each other. Your understanding and support means a lot during this difficult time. Thank You.”

For the unversed, G V Prakash Kumar is the nephew of Oscar-winning musician AR Rahman. GV Prakash Kumar married his childhood sweetheart Saindhavi back in 2013. She is a renowned playback singer. They welcomed a baby girl in 2020.
