ISPL 2024: Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan Support Their Team Tiigers Of Kolkata

The Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) commenced on March 6 with popular celebrities supporting their teams on the field. The first match was held between Amitabh Bachchan’s Majhi Mumbai and Akshay Kumar’s Srinagar Ke Veer. Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, who are the owners of the Kolkata team, Tiigers of Kolkata, were present at the stadium and gladly opened the league with others. Kareena recently shared a reel from the opening day of ISPL.

Kareena posted a match day reel on her Instagram handle with the caption, “Let the cricket madness begin…A league filled with shared passion, fierce competition, and unforgettable fun moments. So excited to start this journey. Tiigers Of kolkata… our Team Come on guyss…” In the video, both Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan could be seen interacting with their team members and the media. The duo took part in the opening ceremony with Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and others.

Meanwhile, Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan attended a press conference before the league started, and a video from the same has gone viral, in which the actress answers a question on whether she can play cricket. While a reporter asked this to Kareena, Saif Ali Khan promptly stated, “Of course, she’s a Pataudi.” Kareena then answered, No, but I try. I am not a great player. I didn’t really hit the ball. But khelne ka aur dekhne ka maja bhi alag alag hota hai. She mentioned that among the duo, she is the spectator while Saif is the player.

Back in January, Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan announced that they would back the Tiigers Of Kolkata in ISPL. Kareena said, “Cricket, a tradition we cherish, a love we share….it runs in the family after all. So thrilled to announce our ownership of Team Kolkata in the Indian Street Premier League! It’s a fantastic opportunity for young aspiring cricketers out there and we couldn’t be happier to be part of this experience!”

On the work front, Kareena Kapoor was last seen in the Netflix film Jaane Jaan. She will next be seen in the much anticipated flick The Crew with Tabu and Kriti Sanon. Rajesh A Krishnan has directed this film, which is produced by Balaji Telefilms and Anil Kapoor Film & Communications Network. The Crew will be released in theatres on March 29.
