Janhvi Kapoor BREAKS Silence On Kartik Aaryan-Karan Johar 'Fight', Dostana 2: 'Unke Beech Kya Hua...'

Janhvi Kapoor has finally broken her silence on her shelved film with rumoured ex-boyfriend, Kartik Aaryan. The film was supposed to mark the debut of Laksh Lalwani and was supposed to be made by Karan Johar. However, as per reports, the film was shelved due to a falling out between Karan and Kartik. Janhvi has finally addressed this in a recent chat.

Speaking to The Lallantop, Janhvi said, “I don’t know really. We had even shot for that film for about 30 to 35 days. The shoot was going very well, according to me. I don’t know why the film was shelved honestly. Of course, I tried asking also, but I guess (it was because) we began shooting for that film long before Covid. And then Covid happened and essentially there was a one-and-a-half years delay. Then people felt that to restart the film… I don’t know.”

When asked if she didn’t want to bring up the falling out between Kartik and Karan Johar, she said, “I don’t think it was that. I think work is extremely important for both of them. But unke beech kya hua kya nahi hua (what happened between the two of them), you should ask them about it.”

Karan Johar had first announced the film with Janhvi, Kartik and Laksh. Then in 2021, Kartik Aaryan walked out of the film after reports of “creative differences” and “unprofessional behaviour” on the actor’s part. Karan then announced that the Colin D’Cunha directorial will feature a new set of actors. The film was soon shelved.

Kartik spoke to The Indian Express earlier and said, “I just focus on my work. That’s all I would like to say on this. What happens, at times, is people make baat ka batangad (make a mountain out of a molehill). There is nothing more to it. No one has so much time (to think so much). Everybody just wants to work and do good work. Other than that, things are just rumours.”

Kartik and Karan grabbed everyone’s attention after they resolved this alleged falling out and announced a new film together. The Sandeep Modi directorial is scheduled to be released in August 2025. Details about the project are under wraps.

As for Janhvi Kapoor, the actress will soon be seen in Mr and Mrs Mahi. The film will also feature Rajkummar Rao in the lead. Both Janhvi and Rajkummar are busy promoting the film, which is scheduled to be released on May 31.
