Lokesh Kanagaraj Shares Nagarjuna's First-look From Coolie On Actor's 65th Birthday
Apart from Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna, Coolie also stars Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir and Mahendran.

Nagarjuna turned a year older on Thursday, August 29. On this special occasion, director Lokesh Kanagaraj took to social media to share the news, accompanied by a striking poster that reveals Nagarjuna’s role in his upcoming film Coolie. This much-anticipated film, Coolie, stars the legendary actor Rajinikanth in the lead role.

The poster introduces Nagarjuna’s character in the film as Simon. In the monochromatic image, the actor exudes an intense and rugged aura, dressed in a black shirt with rolled-up sleeves. His look was accessorised with a watch on his wrist and sunglasses. The background is intriguing, with shadows and blurred elements that hint at the film’s dark and gripping narrative.

The poster has “King Nagarjuna as Simon” boldly written in golden. Sharing the poster on his official X handle, director Lokesh Kanagaraj shared his excitement about Nagarjuna’s addition to the cast and wrote, “Kicked to have King @iamnagarjuna sir joining the cast of #Coolie as #Simon. Welcome on board and wish you a very happy birthday, sir.” Take a look at the post:

The poster has received 2.5 million views.

After this, the Telugu superstar replied to Lokesh’s post on X and wrote, “Thank you, Loki; I have been wanting to work with you since Kaithi!!! Absolutely excited for our journey ahead, @Dir_Lokesh Looking forward to sharing screen space with the Thalaivar!!”

Coolie has been generating buzz since its announcement. Apart from superstars Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna, the film also stars Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir, and Mahendran, among other prominent roles.

There are also reports that actor Aamir Khan will be making a cameo in the film. However, there’s no official announcement on the same. If Aamir joins the cast of ‘Coolie’, he will be sharing the screen with Rajinikanth after 30 years. The actors were last seen together in Aatank Hi Aatank, which also starred Juhi Chawla.

This upcoming Tamil pan-India film is being made on a big budget. While the makers have not confirmed the official release date yet, it is expected to hit the screens in the second half of next year.
