Bollywood actresses always make headlines with their appearances on the red carpet at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival annually. But this year, a popular Marathi actress, Trupti Bhoir, has also attended the festival. She is known for her roles in notable Marathi films such as Agadbam and Touring Talkies. Upon arriving at Cannes, Trupti shared photos of her visit on her Instagram.
She attended the Cannes Film Festival in France on a particular mission. Trupti has brought her film Paro – The Untold Story of Slavery to the festival to receive a wider reach. The film’s trailer is set to be unveiled at the Bharat Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival. Directed by Gajendra Ahire, the film stars Taha Shah Bahusha and Trupti Bhoir and it highlights the harrowing reality of bride slavery.
Trupti Bhoir has already made a name for herself as an actress, be it on stage, television or in films. Hailing from Mumbai, Trupti was initially involved in theatre before joining mainstream cinema. Her journey began with the stage, followed by television serials and films. During her college days, she participated in acting competitions and also learned classical dance. This stood her in good stead when she ventured into this field.
During her college years, Trupti has already won awards for best acting at the state level. The superhit drama Sahi Re Sahi was her first break in professional Marathi theatre. Trupti has been a part of this industry for the past three years and has acted in films like Ishya, Ovalte Bhauraya, Tujhya Majhya Sansarala and Paulkhuna, while her television serials include the famous Vadalvaat and Char Divas Sasuche. Trupti always tries to experiment with the characters she plays. In the film Agadbam, she played the role of an overweight girl named Najuka.
