NCT star Jaehyun announces his enlistment in the military, where he will serve as an active-duty soldier for two years.

NCT member Jaehyun has officially announced that he will begin his mandatory military service on November 4. According to reports from Star News, the K-pop star will serve as an active-duty soldier. Following his basic military training, Jaehyun is expected to complete his service by May 3, 2026, after which he will reunite with his fellow NCT members. He is the second member of the group to enlist, following Taeyong, who has been serving in the navy band since April. Fans have expressed their support for Jaehyun, and SM Entertainment, his agency, confirmed the news on Weverse.

In a statement, SM Entertainment said, “NCT’s Jaehyun applied to the Army Band and received a notification of acceptance from the Military Manpower Administration today. Accordingly, he is scheduled to enlist as an active duty soldier on November 4 to fulfill his mandatory service. On the day of his entry into the recruit training center, there will be no official event to prevent safety accidents due to the congestion caused by the presence of many soldiers and their families. We ask for your unwavering support and love until the day Jaehyun completes his military service and returns in good health.”

Following SM Entertainment’s statement, the NCT star, Jaehyun penned a sweet note for his fans on X. He wrote, “I’m once again filled with gratitude for the precious memories, the meaningful relationships and the immense love I’ve experienced, which I wouldn’t have known if not for this career. I’ve always moved at my own pace until now and I’m so thankful and full of love for your trust and for moving forward together with me. I’ll be back soon and ask you to wait just a little, I’m sure it’ll miss you. I will return healthy, so you all need to stay healthy in both body and mind as well. I’ll keep living diligently, reflecting on the memories we’ve shared and looking forward to the journey we’ll continue together.”

The enlistment news came just a month after Jaehyun made his solo debut with album, J, featuring tracks like Smoke, Roses and Dandelion. As per NME reports, following Jaehyun and Taeyong, the next NCT members to join the duty are Doyoung and Jungwoo.
