Jr NTR’s latest release Devara: Part 1 has been witnessing a strong performance at the box office, creating buzz among cinema enthusiasts. The Koratala Siva directorial, till now, has fetched around Rs 450 crore at the global box office and shows no sign of stopping. As the action entertainer continues to smash previous box office records, Jr NTR sat down for an interview, expressing his delight for Devara distributors and exhibitors who have been making money.
Describing the monetary benefits of the buyers as his ultimate satisfaction in a conversation with Suma Kanakala, Jr NTR said, “I heard that after long-time buyers are truly minting money, and that’s very important to me more than the success,” adding that “When buyers’ return on investment is being doubled and tripled, there’s no bigger satisfaction than that.”
Further shedding light on his experience of working on Devara, Jr NTR added, “Koratala Siva and I have earlier discussed not meeting post the release because we wanted to take a break and not to discuss Devara any further for a month or so.”
Coming back to director Koratala Siva’s Devara, the Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan starrer was released in theatres on September 27. Shruti Marathe, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, Narain, Kalaiyarasan and Murali Sharma joined the lead trio to play the supporting roles.
Meanwhile, the makers of Devara are busy working on its sequel. Recently, Jr NTR also revealed the details about the same, sharing that a few sequences have already been filmed. “We’ve shot for a few sequences, but now we have this responsibility because part one is doing well. We will take a little more time to etch part two into something bigger and better, and something that excites audiences a bit more. We will be writing it, and I just want my director, Koratala Siva, to take a month off,” Jr NTR informed while speaking with Associated Press.
Before Devara 2, Jr NTR will be seen in War 2 wherein he will be playing an antagonist opposite Hrithik Roshan. The Ayan Mukerji directorial also features Kiara Advani in lead role. The spy thriller, sequel to Siddharth Anand’s War, is set to release on August 14, 2025.
