Kalki 2898 AD heavily draws from Mahabharata and the Kalki Purana. It is set in Kashi – a city that has mythological significance among Hindus in India. Telugu superstar Prabhas has emerged as one of the highest paid actor of the Kalki 2898 AD. The highly-anticipated film has finally released today, June 27, and reports have claimed Prabhas charged a fees of Rs 80 crore for his role in the Nag Ashwin directorial. A report also claimed Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan were paid an equal sum for the film. It is also been said that Kalki 2898 AD is made on a budget of Rs 600 crores.
