Shankar Nag Would Rush To Elderly People If They Had Bags At Airport: Arundathi Nag
Arundathi Nag said that Shankar Nag received success at a very young age. The actor was often spotted in Kurta, Pyjamas and slippers.

Shankar Nag was a popular filmmaker and actor in Kannada cinema. He shot to fame with his debut Kannada movie Ondanondu Kaladalli in 1978. It was directed by Girish Karnad. After giving several hits and working as a scriptwriter for a movie titled 22 June 1897, the actor ventured into filmmaking.

His directorial debut was Minchina Ota which was released in 1980. He, along with his brother, Anant Nag played the lead role in the film. With plenty of action movies in his resume, the actor earned the nickname Karate King by his fans. He died at the age of 35 years due to a car crash in 1990. After 24 years of his death, his wife, Arundathi Nag revealed an interesting habit of her husband and late actor Shankar Nag at the cookery show Bombat Bhojana.

Chef Sihi Kahi Chandru’s show Bombat Bhojana recently invited Arundathi Nag as a guest. During the conversation with Sihi Kahi Chandru, the actress Arundathi said that once she noticed something about Shankar Nag which the actor himself was unaware of. She revealed that he used to immediately rush to elderly people whenever he saw them holding bags at the airport. “Basic Humility. All of them are some very essential qualities of a person. Shankar Nag believed that it should not be left,” added Arundhati Nag.

The actress further said that Shankar Nag received success at a very young age. The actor was a very humble person and was often spotted in a kurta, pyjamas and slippers. “He used to say that he had to work. There was an urge to learn within him,” shared Arundathi Nag. During the show, host Sihi Kahi Chandru asked Arundathi about the favourite food of Shankar Nag. To this, Arundathi said, “Potato Bajji with milk and rice.”

Sihi Kahi Chandru seems to have known Shankar Nag from his college days, as revealed by him during the show Weekend With Ramesh in 2023. The actor shared that he was surprised to see the house of Shankar Nag which had only one room. Sihi Kahi Chandru said that the actor was also planning to initiate a subsidy of Rs 10,000 from the government to build such houses.
