Shraddha Kapoor is basking under the success of her film Stree 2. The horror comedy has been creating a storm at the box office. It has already crossed the Rs 100 crore mark and continues to soar. Well, amid this the actress recalled a funny incident during the shooting of the film. Shraddha revealed that her snacks were stolen by monkeys.
Talking to Miss Malini Showbiz, Shraddha Kapoor said that some monkeys entered her hotel room unannounced on the first day. The actress said that she took her favorite snack, bakarwadi, along with her. After checking in, she created a corner dedicated to snacks. Thinking no stranger would barge into her room, she kept the door open. But to her shock, she was pleasantly surprised when a couple of monkeys came in. They swiftly went to the snack corner and picked up the heavy bag of bhakarwadi. Before she could register what had just happened, the animals went away leaving her in disbelief. Shraddha Kapoor exclaimed that they looked like professional thieves who entered her room as they owned it and took along the heavy bag of snacks effortlessly. “Stree 2 aur bandaron ka saamna hogaya wahan pe,” she added.
Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer Stree 2 is unstoppable at the box office. The film, which released on Independence Day, clashed with Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa. Despite clashing with two big films, Stree 2 has emerged victoriously at the box office. As per early estimates, Stree 2 has collected Rs 135.7 Cr by the end of its third day in the cinemas.
As per Sacnilk.com, the film witnessed a massive jump on Saturday as compared to Friday’s collection. It is reported that Stree 2 earned an estimate of Rs 44 Cr on Saturday alone. On Friday, Stree 2 recorded a box office collection of Rs 31.4 Cr. Stree 2 could see a rise on Sunday and might benefit from the Raksha Bandhan holiday on Monday.
“Stree 2 had an overall 61.96% Hindi Occupancy on Saturday, August 17, 2024,” the report stated, adding that the highest occupancy was recorded in the night shows. The report said that the occupancy of the night shows was about 81 per cent. Stree 2 witnessed highest occupancies in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Pune and Bengaluru.
As the trailer hinted, Stree 2 revolves around a new demon terrorising Chanderi. This time, a headless monster is kidnapping women in the dead of night, prompting the return of Stree. Chanderi is once again in peril, and Vicky (Rajkummar Rao) and his friends—played by Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana—are on a mission to save the village. They are joined by the mysterious “Girl With No Name” (Shraddha Kapoor), who warns them that they have only a few days to defeat the demon, or else all will be lost.
Stree 2 was released six years after the first Stree hit cinemas.
