Tamil Horror Film Demonte Colony 2 Locks OTT Release Date. Deets Inside

Tamil supernatural horror release, Demonte Colony 2 is gearing up for its OTT debut this month. The film, deemed a hit at the box-office, is eyeing a date by the month’s end. Also dubbed as Demonte Colony II: Vengeance of the Unholy, the film was theatrically released on August 15, Independence Day. Now, for its online release, the film is going to debut on Zee5, on September 27. It will be released in Tamil and Telugu versions, according to the announcement made by the platform. The official X account of Zee5 shared the update in a tweet. It stated, “The haunted past returns with revenge! #DemonteColony2 will be streaming from 27th September only on ZEE5 in Tamil & Telugu.” The tweet was shared with a haunting trailer of the film, featuring the whole cast in their terrifying best.

Delving into more information on the release, Demonte Colony 2 is made under the direction of R Ajayyer Gnanamuthu; it is a sequel to the 2015 film Demonte Colony. The cast of the film includes Arulnithi and Priya Bhavani Shankar as the leads. They are supported by Archana Ravichandran, Antti Jääskeläinen, Tsering Dorjee, Arun Pandian and more. The film is produced by Bobby Balachandran, Vijay Subramaniam and RC Rajkumar under the banners of BTG Universal, White Nights Entertainment and Gnanamuthu Pattarai. The makers roped in Sam C S for music while the cinematographer is Harish Kannan and the editing is done by Kumaresh D Arulnithi is seen in dual roles of Srinivasan Amirdhalingam and Raghunathan Amirdhalingam, the estranged twin brothers.

Upon its release, the film received a positive response from the audience, becoming a hit at the box-office with a collection of Rs 55 crore. It is currently one of the highest grossing films in Tamil cinema. It follows a group of friends who return to a cursed place to unravel the truth about malevolent spirits in the area.
