TV Actress Sonal Vengurlekar Says Casting Director Tried To 'Forcibly Remove Her Clothes'

Sonal Vengurlekar is a popular name in the television world. The actress has been working in the television industry since a young age and has been a part of many popular TV shows throughout her career. Some of her popular serials include Ye Vaada Raha, Ye Teri Galiyaan, Saam Daam Dand Bhed, Gupta Brothers, Shastri Sisters and more.

Over the years, she has received a lot of love from the audience for her acting skills. But once, during her interview with a media channel, the actress shared a dreadful experience from her early days in the industry. Sonal revealed that she had faced the casting couch at a very young age, which had left a traumatic impact on her mind.

According to reports, Sonal Vengurlekar went vocal about her casting couch experience in 2018. The actress revealed that she was just 19 years old when she started giving auditions. At that time, she got an opportunity to audition for a role at Raja Bajaj’s office, which was a famous photographer and casting director.

Sonal said that she gave the audition but couldn’t deliver the dialogue well since she was untrained at that time. After that, the casting director asked her to assist with a shoot to get a better understanding of the profession.

Initially, Sonal Vengurlekar was asked to try on some outfits despite her not being part of the shoot, and then “cream was forcibly applied to her breasts”, leaving her in utter shock. She said, “He had a bottle of cream in his hand and told me to apply it to my breasts before wearing those, as that would help in giving them a proper shape. Much to my horror, he came forward and applied the cream to my breasts forcibly.”

This was the first incident, she added. Later that night, he forcefully entered her room and told her that he would teach her tantra vidya that would make her a superstar in the industry. All she had to do was go naked and chant a mantra with him. Sonal Vengurlekar revealed that he even forced him on her, but she managed to get away to the other room. After the whole incident, the actress filed a complaint against Raja Bajaj.
