Mahesh Babu and Namrata Shirodkar celebrated their 19th marriage anniversary on Saturday, February 10. It is said that the South superstar fell in love with actress Namrata at first sight and decided to spend his whole life with her.

Mahesh Babu and Namrata met on the sets of their film Vamsi, which was released in 2000. Before officially getting hitched the couple dated for five years, and overcame several obstacles. In an interview, Namrata was quoted as saying, “Since I am from Mumbai, I did not know how I would adjust to a big bungalow. I was scared.”

She added, “So I told them that if I came to live in Hyderabad, we would stay in an apartment.” She further said that Mahesh was okay with this decision and wanted her to stop working after marriage. The couple tied the knot on February 10, 2005, in an intimate ceremony in Mumbai. They have two children, a son Gautam, and a daughter Sitara.

Namrata Shirodkar is a former actress, and the winner of the Femina Miss India 1993 title. She made her debut in Bollywood with the film Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai, starring Salman Khan, in 1998. She is known for films like Kachche Dhaage, Dil Vil Pyar Vyar, LOC Kargil and many others.

Mahesh Babu was last seen in the film Guntur Kaaram, which was released on January 12. Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, the cast of the film also included Sreeleela, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Ramya Krishna, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Jagapathi Babu and Rao Ramesh. It was produced by S Radha Krishna, under the banner of Haarika and Hassine Creations, while Thaman S composed the music.
