Saif Hyder Hasan’s upcoming movie “Yes Papa” is all set to release in theatres on March 1, 2024. The film takes a stand against child abuse and revolves around a girl who is sexually abused by her father. Unaware of the fact that what was happening to her was wrong, when the girl was asked about abuse in court, she expressed she felt this was the way fathers show love to their daughters. Yes Papa is produced by Sadia M. Hasan whereas Ram Kamal Mukherjee is its creative producer.
Geetika Thyagi plays the lead in the movie – a girl who is sexually abused by her father. While Nandita Puri essays the role of her mother, Anand Mahadevan is seen playing the role of her father. The film also stars Atul Kulkarni and Tejaswini Kolhapure as lawyers. Hasan Zaidi also plays Geetika’s husband in the movie.
The film opens with a courtroom trial and reveals that a girl named Vinita (played by Geetika Thyagi) is accused of murder. She is introduced as a divorced woman and as somebody who is “sexually frigid”. During the trial, the narrative takes the audience into the past and reveals Vinita’s traumatic childhood. It reveals how she was sexually abused by her father. While she feels disgusting about it, she also fails to confide it with her mother.
“My character is initially expected to ignore her daughter’s complaints against her father because as the mother, I just could not bring myself to believe this. So, my performance runs through several shades of emotional expression in the court scenes” Puri says while talking about her role.
