Ananya Panday made her debut in Bollywood with Karan Johar-backed Student of the Year 2. Recently, the actress attended the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah. During an interview at the festival, she spoke about Karan Johar’s influence on her decision to become an actor. She also expressed her desire to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Quentin Tarantino.
Speaking to Deadline, Ananya Panday said that Karan Johar’s iconic films Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai influenced her to become an actor. She said, “It was that big Bollywood film that you know, I grew up recreating and dancing to and singing all the songs and I think he inspired me to be an actress.”

When Ananya was asked which directors she wanted to work with next, she said, “There’s an Indian filmmaker called Sanjay Leela Bhansali, I would love to work with him. If I could choose someone globally, I would say… Tarantino. I heard he’s making like his last film and I am like I need to be in that 10th film of his somehow.”
Ananya was last seen in the film Dream Girl 2 alongside Ayushmann Khurrana. She will next be seen in Kho Gaye Hum Kahaan with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav. The movie, helmed by Arjun Varain Singh is all set to release on December 26, 2023 and has been slated for a Netflix release. The film is a cinematic celebration of the unadulterated essence of friendship. The film is a ‘coming-of-digital-age’ story about three friends in their mid-20s navigating life in the world of social media.
