Fighter Villain Rishabh Sawhney Recalls Deepika Padukone 'Greeting And Hugging' His Mother

Siddharth Anand’s aerial-action thriller film Fighter recently hit theatres and impressed audiences across the country. Featuring stars like Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor in the lead roles, the film also had a new entry in the role of the antagonist who left fans pretty curious. Actor Rishabh Sawhney in the villainous character of Azhar Akhtar truly sent chills down the spine of the viewers. The actor who made his debut in Bollywood with the Siddharth Anand film recently opened up on his experience of sharing the screen with superstars.

In a conversation with Filmygyan, Rishabh was all praise for his co-star Deepika Padukone, recalling how the actress humbly greeted his mother at the film’s premiere. Speaking about Deepika’s sweet gesture, the actor said, “She had met my parents before. So she asked where my parents were. She immediately went and hugged my mom. She lovingly greeted my parents.” Rishabh further also shared that he was impressed with Deepika’s humble behaviour and humility towards his parents.

Prior to this, the actor in another interview was seen heaping praise on his Fighter co-star. Noting that he wanted to do a scene with Deepika, Rishabh said, “I did not tell this to Siddharth Anand but I wanted to do a scene with her. Because I don’t know when I will get a chance to work with her again, hopefully soon. I didn’t say it but it was there in my heart like at least I should get a small scene, like a passing shot with her,” he said back then.

Rishabh also shared how Deepika praised him for his performance as the villain Azhar Akhtar in Fighter.

For the unversed, Rishabh Sawhney who was seen having a tough face-off with Hrithik Roshan’s character Shamsher Pathania aka Patty began his journey as a model, and has also walked the ramp for several fashion designers. While Figher marks his big screen project, his acting debut was marked in 2021 with Nikkhil Advani’s period drama series The Empire.
