The ongoing 54th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is premiering some of the notable works by renowned filmmakers. The star-studded event is seeing many celebrities gracing the stage. Marathmola actor Siddharth Jadhav and legendary music director AR Rahman also attended the IFFI 2023 in Goa on November 21 and witnessed the special screening of the Hindi movie Gandhi Talks.
Jadhav, who has played a crucial role in the film, dropped a picture with the music director on Instagram which is, now, viral on the internet. The selfie shared by the actor showed him posing for a selfie with Rahman as they looked all joyous and handsome in their black suits. Sharing the pictures, he wrote, “Shivadi’s “SLUMDOG” with Sangeet’s “MILLIONAIRE”.”
Speaking of the film Gandhi Talks, it features Vijay Sethupathi, Aditi Rao Hydari, Aravind Swami and Siddharth Jadhav in the lead roles. It is the first silent film to be screened at IFFI 2023. Directed by Kishor P Belekar, the film’s musical score has been composed by the Academy Award-winning music director.
As far as the film’s genre is concerned, Gandhi Talks is a black comedy that highlights the financial needs of one of the characters. The film left a deep impact on the lives of people as the story revolves around an unemployed graduate who is working around the clock to land a job through any means possible. However, he crosses paths with a businessman and a petty thief which changes his whole life and the tables turn for him in the most unexpected ways.
Before attending the screening, AR Rahman made a stunning red carpet-appearance along with actors Vijay Sethupathi and Aditi Rao Hydari. During his appearance, he was asked to shed light on the importance of such festivals to which Rahman replied, “Film festivals bring so much joy and inspiration. It is all about getting thoughts and sending ideas. Film festivals give you a vibe about how films are being received. They also inspire you.”
