Imran Khan Recalls Working With Kareena Kapoor In Gori Tere Pyaar Main: 'There Was Comfort, Optimism'
Imran Khan said that since this was his second time working with Kareena Kapoor and Punit Malhotra, he felt a sense of comfort.

Actor Imran Khan, most popular for his feel-good romantic comedies, often takes to Instagram to “reconnect with my films and adjust the way I feel about them”. As part of his process, the actor shares behind-the-scenes photos from the sets of his films, accompanied by some unheard and fun anecdotes. In his recent post, he looked back at the film Gori Tere Pyaar Main, his second time sharing the screen with Kareena Kapoor Khan.

On Tuesday, Imran shared some unseen photos with Kareena and the film’s director Puneet Malhotra on his Instagram and said that since it was his second time working with both of them, he felt a sense of comfort and optimism on the set of Gori Tere Pyaar Main. He also recalled working on Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara at the same time and trying to pull off an excruciating double shift.

He wrote, “Gori Tere Pyaar Mein was launched with much enthusiasm. It would be my second time working with director @punitdmalhotra and also my second time sharing the screen with @kareenakapoorkhan so there was a sense of comfort and optimism.”

Imran continued, “Our first schedule was in Bengaluru, a city very dear to me; I attended The Valley School there for a few years, and many of my core memories feature Brigade Road, Nagarjuna’s chilli chicken, and the legendary Corner House (Cake Fudge gang unite!). The Bengaluru shoot was a blast, particularly Dhat Teri Ki. You may be surprised to learn that most of the remaining scenes were shot on sets in Film City Mumbai… the village set, in fact, was built in the same place that years before had been the site of the Mall Road set from Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander!”

“It was also conveniently located across the street from the massive set constructed for OUATIM. I remember shooting ‘Tayyab Ali’ during the days, then peeling off my moustache while I walked across the street to shoot night scenes for Gori. The summer of 2013 was one of the most gruelling, exhausting periods of my life, as I juggled my time completing these two films. But take a look at my face in every one of these pictures; you can tell I was having fun,” he added.

Imran’s fans are eager with anticipation for the actor to announce his comeback film. Despite early commercial success, Imran faced setbacks when his films Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola and Katti Batti did not perform well. He did make a comeback as a director in 2018, helming the short film Mission Mars: Keep Walking India, but did not pursue a career in direction thereafter.
