The statement, issued on January 3, 2024, urges people to refrain from circulating inaccurate reports about the late actor. The agency expresses regret over the continuous publication of unfounded reports by certain media outlets over the past three months, lacking proper fact-checking. Moving forward, HODU&U Entertainment says that it is committed to gathering evidence and taking legal measures against such erroneous reports.

The announcement also emphasises that the police investigation into Lee Sun Kyun’s tragic death, the alleged drug case, and the woman involved in blackmailing the actor is ongoing. The agency urges the media not to fabricate stories until the truth is established.

As reported by Soompi, the agency’s statement says, “Recently, our agency recognised the fact that rumors and false information about our agency’s actors are being circulated. We hoped that the truth would be revealed through a fair police investigation until the end, but since we can no longer do so, we would like to correct the facts one by one by ourselves.”

It adds, “Consequently, on January 2, HODU&U Entertainment sued the reporter who reported false information as if it were fact on the night of December 27, 2023. We ask the reporter for a sincere apology and that they diligently participate in the legal proceedings that will follow. We would like to ask you one more favor. We request that all articles as well as all posts that were published online without going through fact-checks or that come from unclear sources be corrected or deleted, so we once again ask you to take quick action.”

The statement further notes, “HODU&U Entertainment will continue to do its best to ensure that our agency’s actors can work in a stable environment. We ask for your understanding and cooperation.”

Given the incomplete nature of the investigation, the company requests cooperation and understanding, acknowledging the current challenge in responding to all interviews. Articles and posts containing incorrect information should be rectified or deleted.
