Michael Vaughan Visits Roadside Barber Shop in Mumbai On His ‘Shaving Day’
On a sunny Monday morning post-Diwali, Vaughan paid a visit to the shop, which is located on Ormiston Road at Colaba.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan expressed his love for India once again as he got his shaving done at a roadside barber shop in Mumbai. Vaughan is in India due to his work commitments for the ongoing World Cup and he doesn’t miss any chance to explore the cities especially Mumbai which he is quite fond of. He often posts videos of Mumbai streets and children playing cricket. The former England skipper has now found a new friend in Dinajayal – a roadside barber shop owner.

He got a trim from the barber on the auspicious occasion of Diwali on Sunday and he made another appointment at Dinjayal for shaving on Monday.

On a sunny Monday morning post-Diwali, Vaughan paid a visit to the shop, which is located on Ormiston Road at Colaba. The cricketer-turned-commentator shared a selfie on X, with the caption reading, “Monday is shaving day on the Ormiston Road with my good friend Dinajayal.”

On November 12 when the nation was celebrating Diwali, Vaughan visited the same barber shop on Ormiston Road to get ready for the festival of lights.

The 49-year-old got a haircut followed by a relaxing head massage from Dinajayal. Sharing his experience on X, Vaughan wrote, “Diwali party trim and head massage from my good friend Dinajayal on Ormiston Road in Mumbai.”

Vaughan is not a new customer of the street side salon. Upon his last visit to India to cover the Indian Premier League (IPL), Vaughan got his beard shaved by Dinajayal ahead of the final. In an X post, Vaughan asked his social media followers to pay a visit to the shop in Mumbai. He wrote, “All ready for the IPL final tonight. Then it’s straight to Wembley for the play-off final. If you are ever in Mumbai please visit Deendayal on Ormiston Road. He is fantastic.”

Meanwhile, on 12 November, after Virat Kohli claimed his first World Cup wicket against the Netherlands, Vaughan took a sarcastic dig at Mohammed Hafeez. Tagging the former Pakistan all-rounder in an X post, Vaughan wrote, “Don’t worry, Hafeez. You are not the only one.”

It was during the 2012 T20 World Cup when Kohli dismissed Hafeez during an India-Pakistan clash. In Sunday’s World Cup game in Bengaluru, Kohli got the wicket of Netherlands captain Scott Edwards which is the fifth scalp of his ODI career.
