Nidhi Dutta Refutes Kartik Aaryan, Ayushmann Khurrana Casting Rumours For Border 2: 'No Cast Is Finalised'
The makers of Sunny Deol's hit film Border have clarified that the casting for its sequel has not been finalized yet.

After the record-breaking success of Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2, the sequel of the 2001 hit film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, fans wanted Sunny to reprise his role from his film Border and bring out a sequel. Earlier it was reported that Kartik Aaryan was in talks for Border 2. However, the latest reports claim that Kartik had not been approached for the sequel of the 1997 film. Nidhi Dutta has also clarified that the casting for the film has not been finalized yet.

Pinkvilla claimed in a report that T-Series and Nidhi Dutta’s (JP Dutta’s daughter) spokespersons have refuted these claims. The report mentioned the sources as saying, “These rumours are baseless and lack any factual basis. The film’s supporters are urged to dismiss such misinformation and trust only authentic updates from official sources.”

Earlier, it was reported that Ayushmann Khurrana has been roped in to play the parallel lead alongside Sunny Deol in the ambitious sequel. The reports claimed that Ayushmann was in advanced stages of discussion with director and producer JP Dutta.

Now, Nidhi Dutta has put these rumours to an end. Talking to her X (formerly Twitter) handle on Thursday, Nidhi clarified, “To all #Border2 Patriots! Excitement is brewing, but let’s clear the air. Rumours are swirling, but as of now, no cast is finalized. We share your eagerness &want to update you on every detail. Stay tuned for official news! Your enthusiasm fuels our journey! @TSeries #JPDutta”

The original 1997 film was headlined by Sunny Deol and featured a stellar ensemble cast including Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Akshaye Khanna, Pooja Bhatt, Puneet Issar and Sudesh Berry. Set during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971, the film was written, directed and produced by JP Dutta. The film was released on June 13, 1997, and was declared a blockbuster hit.

Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan was last seen in the hit film Satyaprem Ki Katha and Ayushmann Khurrana just witnessed his highest opening with Dream Girl 2.
