Shark Tank India 3: Peyush Bansal Calls Out Brand On Investments, Says ‘Aane Do Inko Aaj’
Lenskart founder Peyush Bansal dropped a bombshell, disclosing that he had invested his money in the clothing brand, whose pitcher, was about to present.

In the latest episode of Shark Tank India 3, viewers witnessed the introduction of a new shark, Azhar Iqubal, the Co-founder and CEO at Inshorts. As the sharks prepared for a day of pitches, Lenskart founder Peyush Bansal dropped a bombshell and disclosed that he had invested his money in the clothing brand Turms, whose owner, Surender Singh Rajpurohit, was about to present. Rajpurohit, the pitcher representing intelligent apparel with features like anti stain, anti microbial and anti odor properties, candidly acknowledged Bansal’s investment. The brand owner then explained the reasons behind the delay in returning the money, a justification the sharks found reasonable. Impressively, he not only won over the sharks but also secured a deal with one of them.

Before the brand owner took the stage, Bansal could be heard telling the other sharks, “Yaha paise doobe hue hain iss company mein, mere aaj tak paise nahi diye. (My money is wasted here in this company, they haven’t paid me any money till now).” Anupam Mittal then jokingly said, “Tune kapda suna, technology suna, kapde mein technology. (You heard about fabric, you heard about technology, technology in fabric).” To which Peyush added, “Let them come.” During a pitch and product demo, Bansal shared, “Main bhi aise he phasa tha. Arey maine bhi aise hi demo dekha tha yaar, purane din yaad agaye. (I also got stuck in a similar situation. I too have seen such demos, bringing back old memories).”

After listening to the entire pitch by the Turms owner, Peyush Bansal explained, “For almost 2 years, we have been following up to liquidate the shares in our company so that we can record the losses. The situation is so terrible now that we are unable to even book the losses because no one is willing to buy the shares, even at Rs 2. There is no transparency, but we haven’t received anything. We are willing to accept not getting anything, but we want to be able to book the losses so that we can write it off.”

In a surprising turn on Shark Tank India 3, the pitcher claimed he was aware about Peyush Bansal’s investment but revealed a twist that the brand Turms has undergone a change in ownership. The current owner acquired the intelligent clothing brand from the previous proprietors for a substantial sum. After this revelation, Vineeta Singh and Aman Gupta praised the pitcher for his transparency. The environment took a positive turn as the pitcher shared that cricket legend MS Dhoni is one of their loyal customers and he’s frequently spotted wearing their apparel.

Eventually, Aman Gupta and Anupam Mittal extended offers, but the pitcher ultimately chose Azhar Iqubal’s deal, of Rs 1.2 Crore for 4% equity.
