CAT 2023: Engineers Dominate Results with 14 Male Candidates Scoring 100 Percentile
Out of the total 72 candidates who made it into the top 3 percentile, 53 are from engineering backgrounds and only 19 are from non-engineering backgrounds

The Common Admission Test (CAT) is the most popular entrance exam among all the MBA aspirants in the country. It is a highly competitive examination, and aspirants prepare for years to get admission into IIMs and other reputed MBA colleges. The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) conducts this Common Admission Test annually on a rational basis. This year, IIM Lucknow was the conducting body for the CAT 2023. Now that the results of the examination have been declared, like the past few years, engineers have dominated the results this time as well. The top three percentile positions in the CAT 2023 have been 100 percentile, 99.99 percentile, and 99.98 percentile. Among the top 3 positions, there were a total of 72 candidates. Around 14 candidates got a 100 percentile, 29 scored a 99.99 percentile, and another 28 candidates secured a 99.98 percentile. Out of the total 72 candidates who made it into the top 3 percentile, 53 are from engineering backgrounds and only 19 are from non-engineering backgrounds. It was also found that there was only one woman candidate who scored 99.99 percentile and made it into the top 3 percentile position list.

Out of the total 14 candidates who got 100 percentiles, all of them were boys. Out of all these people, the majority of them, i.e., 11 are from engineering backgrounds and 3 are from non-engineering backgrounds.

In the second position, there are a total of 29 candidates who got a 99.99 percentile. Out of them, 28 are male and 1 is female. A total of 22 of these are from engineering backgrounds, and 7 are non-engineering.

In the third position, there have been 28 candidates who have secured a 99.98 percentile. It has been found that all of them are male candidates. Out of them, 20 are from engineering backgrounds, and 8 are from non-engineering backgrounds.

CAT 2023 was conducted at 375 test centres spread across 167 cities in India on November 26. As per reports, around 3.28 lakh people registered for the examination, and only 2.88 lakh appeared on the exam day.
