Festive season kicked in on Friday as the festival of Dhanteras marks the beginning of Diwali festivities. Also known as Dhantrayodashi, this festival is considered highly auspicious for purchasing gold, silver, precious stones and utensils.

Leaders from several political parties wished the people of the nation ‘A Happy Dhanteras’ in their posts on the microblogging site X.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished all his family members of the country on the occasion of Dhanteras. He wrote, “Many congratulations to all my family members of the country on Dhanteras, a festival symbolizing health, happiness and prosperity. I wish that by the grace of Lord Dhanvantari, all of you always remain healthy, prosperous and happy, so that the determination of a developed India continues to get new energy.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, wishing the countrymen on this festival, said “Best wishes to all the countrymen on Dhanteras. May this holy festival of Dhanteras bring happiness, prosperity and good fortune in everyone’s life.”

Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge posted his wishes to the countrymen on X and wrote, “Best wishes to all the countrymen on the holy festival of Dhanteras. On this auspicious occasion, we wish that Goddess Lakshmi brings happiness, peace, prosperity and glory in your life.”

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra extended her greetings on the occasion of Dhanteras and wrote “Best wishes to all the countrymen on the occasion of Dhanteras, the festival of health, cleanliness, good fortune and prosperity. Best wishes in advance for the entire series of festivals. May the blessings of Lord Dhanvantari be upon us all.”

The Bharatiya Janata Party’s X handle posted Dhanteras wishes as “Best wishes to all the countrymen on Dhanteras.”

The Indian National Congress’s X handle also posted a Dhanteras wishes and wrote “Best wishes to all the countrymen on Dhanteras. We wish that this holy festival brings happiness and prosperity in the lives of all of you.”

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal extended his greetings on the occasion of Dhanteras and wrote, “Best wishes to all of you on Dhanteras festival. May the blessings of Mother Lakshmi ji and Dev Kuber ji always remain with you all. May you always remain healthy and happy with the blessings of Lord Shri Dhanvantari Ji.”

Senior AAP Leader Raghav Chadha also wished the citizens on Dhanteras, saying “Hearty greetings to all the countrymen on the holy festival of prosperity and happiness, Dhanteras.”

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh while wishing everyone on Dhanteras also wished for people’s health and prosperity. “Best wishes to all of you on the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras. May Lord Dhanvantari bless you with health and increase happiness and prosperity in your life,” he posted.

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari also posted on X saying, “Hearty greetings to all the countrymen on Dhanteras, the holy festival of wealth, health, prosperity and happiness. May Lord Dhanvantari bless everyone with happiness, prosperity and good health.”

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also wished everyone a ‘Happy Dhantrayodashi’ and posted “May the wealth of Kubera and the health of Dhanvantari be upon you always, Happy Dhantrayodashi!”
