Fresh, Shocking Claims of Raymond Boss' Wife: 'Temple Trek without Food, Water... Bhakt for Money'
Gautam Singhania-Nawaz Modi Divorce: In a statement, Raymond MD expressed his desire to uphold his family’s dignity for the sake of his two daughters and refrained from commenting.

Nawaz Modi, the estranged wife of Gautam Singhania, is out with new allegation against the Raymond MD amid their bitter divorce battle. Modi now claims that the billionaire industrialist “forced her to trek to the Tirupati temple without food and water”. She even said that Singhania is a “big bhakt” of Lord Venkateswara “only because he is God of money”.

According to a report in India Today, an audio clip of Nawaz Modi has surfaced, where she said that Singhania had vowed to visit the Tirupati temple in Andhra Pradesh’s hill town of Tirumala along with her if she agreed to marry him.

He later forced her to undertake the arduous climb up the sacred hill with no food or water, Nawaz was quoted as saying.

“The reason he is such a big bhakt (of Lord Venkateswara) and not of any other God is because that is the God of money,” Singhania’s estranged wife further said.

She had earlier accused the industrialist of “kicking and punching” her and their daughter.

In an exclusive interview with India Today, Nawaz Modi, who reportedly demanded 75 per cent of Singhania’s fortune as a divorce settlement, said that her injuries were so severe that the hospital she went to, told her that she may have internal bleeding.

The industrialist, aged 58, and Nawaz Modi, who is the daughter of solicitor Nadar Modi, tied the knot in 1999 after an eight-year courtship. Singhania, earlier this month, announced separation from Nawaz, saying the two have decided to pursue different paths.

In a statement, Singhania expressed his desire to uphold his family’s dignity for the sake of his two daughters and refrained from making further comments, urging respect for his privacy.

In an recent internal mail to the employees and the board members of Raymond, Singhania said he has chosen not to comment on the reports in media “about matters pertaining to my personal life”, saying “maintaining the dignity of my family is paramount to me”.

“However, I remain resolute as Chairman & Managing Director and am fully committed towards the smooth functioning of the company and its business. Even in these difficult times for me, I assure you that at Raymond, it is business as usual,” he asserted in his mail.

The public revelation of the couple’s discord initially gained attention when videos surfaced of Nawaz Modi being denied entry to a company Diwali party. Shortly afterward, Singhania announced their separation on social media.

In the backdrop of the divorce battle, Gautam’s father and Raymond Group founder, Vijaypat Singhania, also reacted. He said that he is ‘deeply disappointed’ to witness his son ‘breaking up’ the company and lamented his ‘stupid mistake’ of ‘giving away everything’ to Gautam Singhania.
