'One Corrupt, Arrogant Guy...': Former India Cricketer Venkatesh Prasad's Post on X Creates Storm
Venkatesh Prasad is known for his no nonsense posts on social media and has been quite severe with his criticism on the Indian cricket team's poor show in the past.

Former India fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad’s post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) has created quite a buzz and has gone viral. In the post, Prasad has pointed out how it takes ‘one corrupt’ guy to spoil the reputation of an organisation at micro and macro level.

“It takes one corrupt, arrogant guy to take away the hardwork of an otherwise non-corrupt organisation and spoil the reputation of an entire organisation & the impact isn’t just micro but at a macro level. This is true in every field, be it politics, sports, journalistm (sic), corporate,” Prasad wrote.

Pretty straightforward post. Right?

However, as Prasad let his thoughts known to his over 1.8 lakh followers on Sunday, people were quick to point out how it was a modification on his earlier post which he had deleted.

“It takes one corrupt, arrogant guy to take away the hardwork of an organisation that is generally non-corrupt and get a stamp of corruption on the whole leadership , not just on a micro level but at a large level,” Prasad had posted on Saturday.

Users on social media began speculating whether Prasad was targeting someone particular even though his post doesn’t mention anyone specifically.

The furore that followed seems to have forced him to remove that post and on Sunday morning, he put out a fresh post sharing same thoughts with an addendum: “This is true in every field, be it politics, sports, journalistm (sic), corporate.”

In an earlier post of his Prasad, who played 33 Tests and 161 ODIs between 1994 an 2001 for India, had tried to clarify his post was being taken out of context.

“That was a general tweet where i (sic) spoke about how one person who is  corrupt can undo a lot of good work of his organisation and it can have large scale implication on a macro level as well in any field. Since i was also speaking about the inefficiency of the BCCI around tickets in othsr (sic) tweets,  it led to confusion and looked out of context. Hence deleted, varna naam lekar khulkar bolne mein Rambhakt kisiko chhodte nahin , Jai Shree Ram,” Prasad had written in response to a user asking for clarification.

Prasad was earlier this year involved in a heated exchange with fellow ex-cricketer Aakash Chopra on the social media platform after his criticism of KL Rahul.
