'Otherwise We'll See a Tweet from Michael Vaughan...': Wasim Jaffer Quotes Faf du Plessis' Post to Take a Dig at Michael Vaughan
Wasim Jaffer took a shot Michael Vaughan for his post in which the England captain wondered about the empty seats during a world cup match.

Former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer has again taken a playful dig at ex-England skipper Michael Vaughan on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

It all started with legendary South Africa batter Faf du Plessis’ post.

“I have 2 category 1 rugby tickets for sale that I bought a while ago. The quarter finals South Africa vs France in Paris. For those interested send me a message,” Du Plessis wrote.

Sharing Du Plessis’ post, Jaffer cheekily commented, “Hopefully Faf finds a buyer soon otherwise we’ll see a tweet from Michael Vaughan asking ‘Why empty seats in Paris for QF.’”

Jaffer’s post comes just days after Vaughan had complained about empty seats at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi during India’s second World Cup 2023 fixture against Afghanistan on October 11.

“Why so many empty seats in Delhi for the India game,” Vaughan had posted.

Jaffer’s post became an instant hit as social media users reacted to it in a hilarious fashion.

“That was a Jaffa from Jaffer. Absolutely unplayable,” wrote one person.

“Roasting at peaks level,” commented another social media user.

Praising the former Indian cricketer’s sense of humour, a person replied, “Hahaha! Always eager to read your tweets Wasim Jaffer sir. After a long wait we have your message on Mr. Michael Vaughan.”

“I am waiting for your response from yesterday,” responded another user.

“Hahahaha good one,” commented one fan.

Here are some other reactions.

Coming back to World Cup 2023, India kicked off their campaign on a promising note having remained unbeaten in their first two games. In their opening contest, Rohit Sharma’s men got the better of Australia by six wickets.

In their next match, India defeated Afghanistan by eight wickets.

Team India will next be up against Pakistan on Saturday.

“For us, it is crucial that we don’t worry about external factors and just look at things we can control. We just need to show up and do well,” Rohit said after the victory against Afghanistan.

Pakistan, on the other hand, will head into the clash against India having won their first two World Cup 2023 matches as well. The match between India and Pakistan is scheduled to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday.
