The Uttar Pradesh state government administered the Nipun Assessment Test (NAT) in elementary schools throughout the Noida region till December 10. The Nipun Assessment Test will, however, be administered again this week at 17 schools, according to a Times of India report.
Officials told TOI that the re-examination was necessary due to technological glitches and incorrect data entry by DIET trainees. The evaluation had previously been completed in 388 schools around the district, however, in response to technical glitches, identical data was submitted for multiple schools in some cases.
The NAT will be administered to students in grades 1–8 to evaluate their learning outcomes in language and mathematics (grades 1–5) and mathematics and science (grades 6–8). The Saral App will be used to administer the test.
An integral aspect of the Nipun Bharat Mission’s execution is the UP government’s Nipun Assessment Test (NAT). The Union Ministry of Education launched the Nipun Bharat Mission, also known as the National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy, under the Samagra Shiksha scheme, which is an all-encompassing programme for the school education sector that runs from kindergarten to class 12 and is in line with NEP (National Education Policy) 2020.
Meanwhile, the Haryana government has begun to transition towards the use of technology in the evaluation of class 1 to 3 students in government schools using tablets. The Nipun Haryana Teacher’s App will be used to perform periodic assessments for Hindi, English, and Mathematics, which are critical topics for fundamental literacy and numeracy. Teachers will ask questions from the app to each student during this exam, documenting their responses orally or in writing on a tablet or sheet. Following the exam, teachers will be required to submit all of the student’s answers on the app, which will subsequently make the results available in real time. The responses provided by each of the students on the app-based examinations account for 80 per cent of their grades, with the remaining 20 per cent allocated based on assessments by the teacher.
