Actor Politician Khushboo 'Offers' to Contest Against Jayalalithaa

Actor-politician Khushboo has offered to contest the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections against Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa from RK Nagar constituency, sources close to her said on Wednesday.

The sources said Khushboo wanted to contest as a Congress candidate, but is yet to be officially announced by the party leadership in Delhi.

"I am ready to challenge Jayalalithaa if Congress leadership allows me," she is believed to have told the party.

In 2015, Jayalalithaa had won the RK Nagar constituency after being acquitted in disproportionate assets case

Khushboo was earlier with Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and, in 2014, she left M Karunanidhi's party and joined the Congress.
