The BJP will seek to maximise their hold in Guwahati and adjoining areas while the second phase will be key for the Congress.

The second and last phase of assembly polls in Assam will be held on April 11. Guwahati, Lower Assam and the Bodoland territorial areas will be going to polls in the second phase.

The party will focus on capturing the Muslim votes. In Lower Assam has a dominant Bengali Muslim population. AIUDF chief and Congress ally Badruddin Ajmal's role will be key in this phase - he has pitched himself as the kingmaker in the elections.

Kokhrajhar and other areas of Assam affected by the violence between Bodos and Bengali-speaking Muslims will also go to the polls in this phase.
