At least 7 people were injured in poll violence after two groups of BJP workers clashed at a party meet in North Howrah, Kolkata. The clash happened at a local party meeting convened by the candidate of area Roopa Ganguly ahead of the first phase of polling in West Bengal.
According to the reports, President of the party's Yuva Morcha Umesh Rai, who was hopeful for ticket from the area apparently led a 'non-coperation' with Roopa Ganguly as the latter ended up getting the party ticket.
The clashes happened at the worker's conference in North Howrah in front of the star candidate Roopa Ganguly and other central leaders who were also present at the incident.
Another local leader Vivek Sonar was attacked and badly injured by Umesh Rai and his supporters. Vivek was later rushed to the hospital.
