Partha Chatterjee said they were determined to go to Lalgarh.

Kolkata: With three senior Trinamool Congress leaders deciding to visit Lalgarh on Tuesday, the West Bengal government on Monday said it would arrange for their security if they insisted on going there.

"Since the situation at Lalgarh is not yet conducive for the visit of ministers or VVIPs, we raised objection in view of security reasons. If the Trinamool leaders insist on visiting the area tomorrow, we have to arrange for their security," Home Secretary Ardhendu Sen said.

"We have come to know about the visit by Union Minister of State for Shipping Mukul Roy, Union Minister of State for Rural Development Sisir Adhikari and Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly Partha Chatterjee," Sen told reporters.

He said that the West Midnapore district would also request the Trinamool Congress leaders not to visit Lalgarh, but arrange for their security, if they insisted on going there.

Sen also said there was no communication from the Union Home Ministry for providing security to the TC leaders. Partha Chatterjee said that they were determined to go to Lalgarh and had informed the chief secretary. "Our visit stands."
