New Delhi: The government, after holding a series of talks with the Opposition members, is optimistic of introducing the Lokpal Bill in the Rajya Sabha by next week, sources on Tuesday told CNN-IBN.

Sources added that the government has decided that the states will take a call on respective Lokayuktas and only MPs can remove the Lokpal head.

There also seems to be a consensus on only government-funded NGOs being under the Lokpal ambit.

Talks are on with various parties to thrash out differences on the Lok Pal Bill amid indications that the government was open to the idea of removing the provisions regarding setting up Lokayuktyas in the states.

The Bill has already been passed by the Lok Sabha but if it agreed to any amendments, as is the possibility, then the amended bill will have to be again brought to the lower house.
