New Delhi: BJP on Friday said the government should take yoga guru Ramdev's fast against corruption and black money seriously and announce "credible action" to tackle these issues.
"This (black money) is a very serious issue....He has raised some very pertinent questions on the issue of corruption and the whole country is agitated on the issue. We want that the government take this matter seriously and announce some credible measures," BJP chief spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said.
The party also expressed concern over the health of Ramdev who was shifted to a hospital on Thursday and is being kept in ICU.
"His life is very important for the nation. Government should take credible action on the issues that Ramdev has raised," Prasad said.
In reply to a question, the BJP spokesperson took on Congress leaders and ministers, especially Minister of State in PMO V Narayansamy and Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh.
"Some ministers do yoga with him, some associate with him, some meet him, some welcome him, some talk of beating him up. And through all this, our able Prime Minister is still keeping mum on the issue," Prasad said.
