Lab reports indicating beef fat and fish oil in the ghee used to make the famous Tirupati prasadam has sparked a massive political storm, a day after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu accused the YSRCP regime of using animal fat to make the consecrated laddus.
Saying Hindu sentiments have been “defiled” by those “responsible” for using animal fat in the prasadam, the BJP traded its guns on the erstwhile YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government after the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) displayed a purported laboratory report from back in July confirming the adulteration.
Spokesperson Amit Malviya said those responsible for using these elements in the prasadam were ‘defiling’ Hindu religious sentiments.
