New Delhi: The Janata Dal United on Monday expelled party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sabir Ali for making "anti-party" comments.
Ali had recently praised Narendra Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate, in a statement.
Ali, whose tenure in the Upper House ends in April, was earlier denied a berth in the House by the party.
"Nitish Kumar ditched me. He promised me a Rajya Sabha berth, then didn't give me. They used me and are now throwing me like tissue paper," Ali said.
He also added, "From distance Modi's policies look nice. Those who have capabilities should rule the country."
He, however, did not say if he was joining the BJP. "I will decide my future course of action later," he said.
