Faridabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party is likely to announce its fourth list of candidates on Saturday. Sources have told IBNLive that former Haryana BJP chief Krishan Pal Gurjar will be the party's candidate from Faridabad.

Gurjar is set to face four-time Congress MP Avtar Singh Bhadana in the constituency. In 2009, while BJP's Ram Chander Bainda had to face defeat from Bhadana, sources say the BJP is pinning its hopes on Gurjar.

Gurjar's political journey with the BJP began in 1980 when he became the Students' Union Secretary. He then went to become a councillor in 1994 and a Haryana MLA as well as state transport minister in 1996. In 2000, he again became MLA in the Haryana Assembly.

In 2009, Gurjar became the Haryana BJP President and was the chief till 2013. He is currently a member of the BJP National Executive Committee.
