Party demanded Rs 25 lakh for ticket: BSP nominee
Gayadin alleges BSP leader Hariram Ahirwar demanded Rs 25 lakh from him.

Raisen (Madhya Pradesh): Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Tikamgarh Lok Sabha candidate Gayadin Ahirwar alleged he was forced by the party to collect Rs 25 lakh to retain his ticket and after being failed, he cooked false loot story.

Police said that Gayadin lodged a complaint that two people in police uniform had looted the cash from him on Friday evening but later confessed it as false, during interrogation.

Gayadin alleged that state BSP Secretary Hariram Ahirwar demanded Rs 25 lakh from him and he feared that if he failed in arranging the cash he would be deprived of the ticket.

Raisen Superintendent of Police KC Jain said that following mounting pressure from the state party office and in absence of proper funds, the accused cooked the story in collusion with his driver Ramdin Chourasia.

Gayadin and Chourasia were interrogated separately at Bilkhiriya Police Station at Bhopal till late Friday night in which they admitted to the crime.

The driver said that Gayadin was troubled by the incessant phone calls from party office and hence he hatched the conspiracy on his behest.

''Party supremo Mayawati and state in-charge Rajaram gave him the ticket,'' Gayadin said after confessing his crime, adding that Hariram promised on March 18 that he would arrange poll material, vehicles and workers in all eight constituencies of Tikamgarh but demanded the huge cash for poll management on March 20.

Action was being taken against the duo, police said.
