New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi will be filing his nomination from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh later on Saturday. This is the second time he is contesting from the bastion of the Gandhis.
Amethi, would be a ''focal point'' for the Gandhi family for canvassing in the nearing Lok Sabha polls.
The place would turn a central place for the Gandhi family as the youth scion, mother Sonia and sister Priyanka would indulge themselves in canvassing from here. As per the programme, he would be accompanied by his mother, sister and brother-in-law Robert Vadra, union Law Minister Hansraj Bhardwaj and former Petroleum minister Satish Sharma.
The real challenge for him lies in increasing the congress tally from that in 2004. Rahul has been insisting on strengthening the party organization.
Besides two company PAC, nine Deputy Superintendent of Police and Additional SP would be garrisoned on the way from the guest house to the Collectorate, from where he would file the nomination.
